MANILA, Philippines – Seven persons were reported dead by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Thursday morning, October 24, as Severe Tropical Storm Kristine made landfall in Luzon.
On the other hand, more than two million people were affected by the calamity.

Of the total reported deaths, Bicol Region had six and Calabarzon had one.

Specifically, the NDRRMC reported that 2,077,643 persons were affected by the tropical storm, noting that 12,334 took shelter at evacuation centers while 364 stayed in other areas.
Article continues after this advertisementOf the total affected population, Bicol Region had 1,669,507 persons affected, followed by Bangsamoro with 351,913, and then, Mimaropa with 24,748.
The NDRRMC also recorded 189 flooded areas in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula and the Bangsamoro region.
